4. Pollution and Waste

The production of dairy products can lead to pollution and waste issues. Manure from dairy farms can contaminate water sources, causing eutrophication and harmful algal blooms. Plant-based alternatives do not generate the same level of waste and pollution.

For example, a study published in the journal Science of the Total Environment found that producing a liter of cow's milk generates more than six times the amount of waste compared to producing a liter of soy milk.
