AI can be classified into two categories: Narrow AI and General AI. Narrow AI, also known as weak AI, is designed to perform specific tasks, such as speech recognition or playing chess, but it lacks the ability to think and learn beyond its programmed capabilities. On the other hand, General AI, also known as strong AI, possesses the ability to understand, learn, and apply knowledge across different domains, similar to human intelligence.


There are several techniques and algorithms used in AI, including:


  • Machine Learning (ML): ML algorithms enable computers to learn from and make predictions or decisions based on data. For example, ML algorithms can be used to develop spam filters for email or to recognize patterns in financial data.


  • Deep Learning: Deep learning is a subset of ML that uses artificial neural networks with multiple layers to process and understand complex patterns in data. It has been successfully applied in various fields, such as image and speech recognition.


  • Natural Language Processing (NLP): NLP focuses on enabling computers to understand, interpret, and generate human language. Applications of NLP include language translation, sentiment analysis, and chatbots.


  • Computer Vision: Computer vision involves enabling computers to understand and interpret visual information from images or videos. It has applications in facial recognition, object detection, and autonomous vehicles.

AI has found its applications in numerous industries, including healthcare, finance, transportation, and entertainment. For instance, in healthcare, AI algorithms can assist in diagnosing diseases, analyzing medical images, and predicting patient outcomes. In finance, AI is used for fraud detection, algorithmic trading, and personalized financial recommendations.
