Madame Cash, a well-known problem solver in Ibad, agrees to help the wealthy bachelor Adle find a bride. Adle wants a contract wife—preferably a virgin—who will bear him a child and stay married for a year without intimacy. Madame Cash accepts the job for a large sum of money. Meanwhile, Shalwa, an orphan who dropped out of school to care for her sick brother, learns that he needs urgent surgery. With no means to raise the necessary funds, Shalwa is devastated as her brother, FEI, resigns himself to the fact that he may not survive.
