A long time ago in the village of Umaga, the Okono family lived with their two daughters, Nira and N, and their son, Akin. Mr. Okono was a well-respected builder, while Mrs. Okono managed the household. Despite their modest means, the family’s spirits were high due to the academic success of Nira and Akin.
However, N struggled in school and often fell behind, causing tension in the family. Her siblings teased her, and her parents were harsh, blaming her for her difficulties. N’s father frequently criticized her, and her mother focused more on chores than helping N with her studies. N’s siblings enjoyed privileges and better treatment, while she was left feeling isolated and neglected.
Despite her efforts, N faced repeated failures and was often punished, which deepened her feelings of inadequacy and sadness. Her home life became a constant struggle, as she felt unworthy compared to her successful siblings.
