In this scene, Sam proposes to his girlfriend Leslie after being together for five months, but she hesitates, wanting to wait until his business is successful. Meanwhile, Sam's father, Larry, tries to hit on Leslie, not knowing she's his son's girlfriend. When confronted, Larry dismisses Sam as a "loser" and tries to manipulate Leslie by offering her a more luxurious lifestyle. Sam, however, catches on to the deceit, reveals Leslie's betrayal, and ultimately ends the relationship, realizing she was never truly committed to him. In the end, Sam and his father are both disappointed, while Leslie is left alone.
