Ann, the new girl at Herman Prep, has a rough start when she accidentally spills coffee on a popular girl, Megan, who immediately mocks her. Feeling out of place, Ann struggles to fit in. She befriends Kim, a smart and kind girl who warns her to stay away from Megan and her friends, as well as Jake, a popular boy with a bad reputation. Despite Kim's warnings, Ann becomes closer to Megan and Jake.

Megan convinces Ann to co-host a party and fund it with money she earned through stock trading, but Kim warns her that Megan and Jake are using her. Ann initially brushes it off, believing Megan's lies that Kim is just jealous and that Jake is genuinely interested in her. However, during the party, Ann overhears Megan and Jake admit they were using her for money and that Jake never actually liked her.

Humiliated, Ann realizes she was manipulated. She cancels the DJ and food for the party, leaving Megan and Jake in an embarrassing situation. Ann reconciles with Kim, apologizing for not believing her, and they plan a trip to Europe together. Megan’s party is a disaster, and to make things worse, her parents return home unexpectedly, leaving her in big trouble.

Ann learns a valuable lesson about true friendship and the dangers of superficial popularity.
