In December 1939, during the Second Sino-Japanese War between Japan and China, an entire Chinese regiment consisting of around 3,000 soldiers mysteriously disappeared. This regiment was stationed in the Nanjing area and had been assigned a mission to defend a strategic position. However, when reinforcements arrived, the entire regiment had vanished without a trace. There were no signs of a struggle, no evidence of a retreat, and no bodies to be found.
Various theories have been proposed to explain this bizarre occurrence. Some suggest that the soldiers were captured or killed in a surprise attack, but the lack of evidence makes this unlikely. Others propose that they deserted en masse or were victims of some natural disaster, but again, there’s no concrete proof to support these ideas.
