At school, a new student named Hannah arrives wearing a box on her head, causing concern and ridicule among her classmates. Despite the teacher’s effort to accommodate her, the situation becomes challenging as it disrupts the lesson plans.
Hannah's mother explains that the box is a new method of coping for Hannah, who previously wore a face mask at home. The behavior stems from a traumatic experience where a boy named Alex called her "ugly," leading her to lose confidence and avoid showing her face.
The school is sympathetic but ultimately finds the situation difficult to manage in the classroom. Hannah's mother hopes that socializing with other children might help her, as staying isolated at home isn’t a long-term solution.
