Bradley, a humble kitchen worker, faces bullying and sabotage from his co-worker Bianca, who believes her family connections guarantee her success as head chef. Despite being belittled and even fired, Bradley participates in a cooking competition to become the next executive chef. He presents a family recipe, which impresses the head judge, Chef Louie, who recognizes it from a past state fair.
