In the story, young monk Kaito seeks to understand the nature of love from Zen master Haruto. The master takes Kaito to a garden and asks him to tend to a rosebush by watering, pruning, and protecting it. Over time, the rosebush flourishes, illustrating that true love involves consistent, selfless care and attention. Master Haruto teaches Kaito that love is demonstrated through nurturing actions and genuine concern for others, rather than just emotions or grand gestures. Kaito learns to apply this understanding in his interactions, embodying love through compassionate and attentive behavior.
