he story begins with a young boy named Nick who feels ignored by his parents. His father dismisses him, and his mother is preoccupied with another man. Years later, after his mother's death, Nick is shown as a successful chief surgeon. At his mother’s funeral, he appears indifferent and soon takes charge of a major surgery at the hospital.

Returning to his family mansion, Nick is haunted by disturbing visions of his mother with various men. Struggling with these memories, he seeks solace at a bar where he encounters Helena, a woman he had a brief affair with. His anxiety increases upon seeing her, prompting him to leave the bar.

Nick then contacts his girlfriend, Anne, who works as a therapist.
