In the movie's opening, a desolate desert in Utah sets the stage. A dirty child is seen eating a severed human finger. Our protagonist, Wyndham, a professional photographer, arrives to capture a solar eclipse. After taking some stunning photos from a challenging vantage point, he heads back to his car but notices the crying child. The boy claims he's lost and asks for help. Despite the boy's odd behavior and eventual insults, Wyndham follows him, only to find himself lost as night falls. The child’s unsettling actions and Wyndham’s growing desperation add tension as he struggles to find his way back.
