The movie starts with John, a man running through a forest in Ireland, who finds himself trapped in a repetitive loop and is ultimately dragged away by an unseen creature.

The scene then shifts to Mina, an American girl working in a pet store in Galway. Her boss asks her to deliver a valuable golden conure parrot to a zoo in Belfast, and she agrees, eager for a change. On her journey, she receives a voice message from her twin sister, Lucy, who reminds her of their mother's death anniversary and urges her to move on from the past. Mina seems indifferent to the message.

As Mina drives through a forest area marked with signs of missing people and animals, her radio turns off and her car breaks down. After discovering a sign labeled "Point of No Return 12," she searches for help and finds that her car has disappeared. As night approaches, she hears unsettling noises and sees someone running. Mina follows this person to a cabin, where an old woman tells her she must enter to survive. Mina, hearing the distressed animals outside, decides to trust the woman and goes into the cabin.
