The movie opens with Liza returning home from work and finding her son Jude hiding and scaring her. After receiving a call from her husband, Sean, saying he will be late, Liza tucks Jude in and goes to bed. Later, she hears strange noises and discovers Jude missing from his bed. As she searches for him, a masked burglar attacks her. Despite her efforts to fight back, she is knocked unconscious by an accomplice, and the burglars escape, leaving Liza and Jude in distress.
