Zoe's life takes a dramatic turn when her boyfriend Trevor kicks her out while she's pregnant. Seeking refuge, she stays with her friend Phil, who suggests a marriage of convenience to help both of them—Zoe can gain stability and get back at Trevor, while Phil has a chance at a promotion. As they navigate their fake engagement, genuine feelings develop between them. 

When Trevor attempts to win Zoe back, Phil realizes his feelings for her are real and quits his job to prioritize their relationship. In the end, Zoe chooses love over ambition, accepting a new opportunity with Phil, who has also found a better position elsewhere.
