In this scene, Larry's scheme to get Carol fired backfires spectacularly. He plots to replace Carol, an experienced employee, by hiring an incompetent intern, Stacy, and setting her up for failure. Larry orchestrates the whole thing, hoping to take Carol’s promotion and make her look bad in the process. However, his plan collapses when Stacy's mistakes, influenced by Larry, lead to disastrous work results, jeopardizing the company's reputation.

After Carol is unjustly fired, Stacy reveals she never cared about the job and leaves. Larry, now in crisis, tries to apologize to Carol and begs her to come back. Carol, who has finally had enough of the mistreatment and disrespect, refuses. She reveals that she's already found a new job, leaving Larry in a mess of his own making, with no one to bail him out.

The story ends with Larry realizing he's lost everything, as he desperately calls his mother, once again showing his immaturity and failure to take responsibility for his actions.
