**Summary of the Opening Scene:**

The story begins with Wayne, Keaton, and Robin, three longtime friends, planning a surprise for Gordie, who is about to get married. While Wayne sleeps in a parked car, Keaton and Robin sneak into Gordie’s house to kidnap him for his bachelor party. They find him asleep and, after a brief struggle, manage to incapacitate him using ether. They then toss Gordie into the trunk of their car.

The next morning, they reveal the prank to Gordie, excited to celebrate his upcoming wedding in Red River, Kentucky. They plan to visit their favorite distilleries along the Bluegrass Bourbon Trail, but reminisce about a mysterious distillery called Arcadia that they could never find during college. Their first stop, however, disappoints them as it has been converted into a winery.
