The show opens in India, where best friends Sunny and Firoz find themselves kidnapped by gangsters and taken to a remote villa. The gang leader interrogates them about a fake bank note. Flashbacks reveal that Sunny is a talented street artist known for replicating famous paintings and selling his work at low prices. He inherited this artistic talent from his grandfather, Madhav, who runs a struggling newspaper called Kranti Magazine. During a conversation while Sunny finishes a new painting, they discuss the future of the magazine.
