The movie opens with Baker Dill, a fishing boat captain sailing around Plymouth Island, accompanied by his sailor, Duke, and two eager patrons looking for a maritime adventure. However, Baker is fixated on catching a giant yellowfin tuna and refuses to let the customers handle the fishing rod. When they insist, Baker becomes aggressive, threatening them with a knife to keep their distance. This confrontation leads the patrons to refuse payment for the trip. Compounding his frustration, Baker once again fails to catch the elusive fish, highlighting his obsession and the tension on board.
