In a near-future setting, the story follows a nameless protagonist, referred to as "Dude," who is traveling by train. Clearly impoverished and having faced numerous hardships, Dude demonstrates kindness by sharing what little he has with others in need. Upon arriving at Greenview Outpost, he finds the place in disrepair and only encounters a shabby-looking man fixated on a television.
