Set in 1192 CE in Ghazni, Afghanistan, the story follows Sultan Muhammad Gory and his blind prisoner, Priar, who is forced to fight for his life against three lions. After emerging victorious, Priar faints from exhaustion and is returned to his cell, where his loyal poet Chan B urges him to recover. The narrative flashes back to Priar's past, revealing his romance with Princess Sanoa of Kaji, who is deeply in love with him.
