In this story, the employees at Bergström's Department Store are excited about a promotion for the head of the ladies' department, with two contenders: Karen and Alyssa. Karen is overly confident about her chances, while Alyssa remains humble. During a busy day, a customer enters looking for new fall outfits, and Karen tries to impress her while dismissing Alyssa's help. 

As they assist the customer, Karen becomes suspicious when an expensive gown goes missing, wrongly accusing the customer, Hannah, who is a student. After a series of misunderstandings and confrontations, it's revealed that Hannah is actually the store's mystery shopper. In the end, Alyssa is promoted to head of the department, while Karen is fired for her poor judgment and assumptions based on appearance. The story highlights the importance of not judging others based on their looks and recognizing the value of all individuals.
