In 1911 Paris, Raymond Pointernad, the newly promoted Secretary of Foreign Affairs, celebrates his promotion at the Moulin Rouge. Meanwhile, a man named Monsieur Chopard experiences a bizarre event while relieving himself near a monument at Place des Pyramides. Strange lights swirl around the statue, which are actually the result of an experiment conducted by Professor Aspirandu, a scientist known for his work on life after death.
