The protagonist, Peter, has dinner with Molly and confesses to considering killing someone to save himself. He pulls a gun on Molly but misses, leading to a fight with Sam. Ultimately, Sam kills Peter to protect Molly. Weeks later, Sam and Molly board a plane to Paris, where Sam experiences a series of ominous events before the plane crashes, killing them both. The movie is revealed to be a prequel to the franchise, coming full circle with the plane crash that started it all. Roy's autopsy reveals an aneurysm that would have killed him anyway, ending with Nathan's death due to a piece of landing gear falling on him. Final Destination 5 was released in 2011 and a sixth installment is in the works.
