In the film, two metal scrappers discover the damaged Jaeger, Gypsy Danger, while searching for a ship. Rally, a former pilot, emerges injured from it. Fast forward five years, a group of officials deems Jaegers obsolete and proposes building a massive wall to protect cities from the Kaiju, which disappoints Commander Pentecost.
