After encountering infected people in a storeroom, Evan and Emma escape as they are chased. Stacey, manipulated by parasites, attacks Emma. The duo narrowly escapes a military bombing by jumping into a pool. They find their town destroyed and head towards Washington to meet their parents as directed by a note left by their dad. Emma and Evan steal a car and share a kiss before leaving.
