In the US civil war, Texas and California seceded to form the WF militia, while Florida created its alliance. The President leads government forces against the secessionists but faces skepticism. War photographer Lee witnesses chaos in NYC and covers a violent protest. She saves a young photographer, Jessie, from a bombing and agrees to take her to DC for an interview with the President. Despite dangers, they begin their journey through war zones, with mentor Sammy, to the front lines in Charlottesville. Along the way, they encounter checkpoints, discuss interview topics, and face challenges for resources. At a gas station, they discover tortured looters, prompting a disturbing decision by Jessie. With tense circumstances ahead, Lee, Joel, Sammy, and Jessie navigate a treacherous path towards their risky goal.
