After a catastrophic series of disasters, civilization crumbles, forcing survivors to scavenge resources. Feudal society emerges, with barons owning and trading resources in the Badlands, former North American states divided into regions. Barons recruit fighters, "clippers", who use bladed weapons since firearms are banned. Clipper Sunny encounters escaped nomads with their baron's stolen cargo.
