In the middle of the night, three animal rights activists break into a research center experimenting on chimps with a virus called "rage". The activists release a chimp that attacks and infects a woman, turning her into a zombie. Twenty-eight days later, Jim wakes up in a deserted hospital, finding London in chaos. The virus has spread, leaving no survivors.
