In 2003, Marcus in a Texas prison cell awaits execution. Doctor Kogan visits and offers to donate his body to science. Marcus agrees for a kiss, stealing it. He signs the paperwork, then receives lethal injection while looking at Kogan. In the early 21st century, Skynet, a self-aware defense program, attacks humanity. Rebels believe salvation is in warrior John, approaching a Skynet facility with his team. They face security robots and discover a lab with human experiments. John pursues a fleeing Skynet aircraft in a helicopter.
