After Life is a 2009 mystery film involving Eliot Deacon, a funeral director, and Anna Taylor, a teacher, whose relationship with her boyfriend is strained. Anna saves a bullied boy at school and comforts him about a scared chick. She struggles with depression, taking pills to cope. Leaving school, Anna is frightened by lights shutting off until the boy, Jack, helps her. They leave together for her old piano teacher’s funeral.
