In 1863, Peter, a slave on a cotton plantation with his wife and children, is sold to a new owner. Despite his resistance, he is taken away. The new location is even harsher, with brutal conditions and cruel treatment by white masters. The slaves face violence, sleep in cages, and are threatened by feral dogs if they try to escape. The white masters justify their actions with Bible quotes, creating a horrifying environment for the slaves to endure.
