The entire town of Ogden Marsh in Iowa is ablaze at night, with no one left as flames engulf every corner. It all began two days earlier when Rory, armed with a shotgun, is shot and killed by Sheriff David in a moment of panic. Despite believing Rory was drunk, tests later show no alcohol in his system. Meanwhile, other residents begin to exhibit similar spaced-out behavior, hinting at a larger mysterious phenomenon.
