Alan, a father living in northern France, was left homeless and struggling to care for his 5-year-old son, Sam. They had to resort to hitchhiking and rummaging for food in order to survive. When they reached the south, Alan stole from an electronic store out of desperation. They were eventually met by Richard, Alan's sister's husband, who provided them with food and shelter. Now, they are seeking help from neighbors as they navigate their challenging circumstances.
