Uma's former lover, Marcus, lies about Uma's choice of son. Marcus allows them to leave the island, and Anna, a 16-hour-a-day factory worker, agrees to replace UMO. Anna is imprisoned for her father's murder, but Uma escapes. Anna becomes a wealthy widow, living freely.
