Ry and Maggie are moving to a new location after losing their daughter. They plan to open their motel, but encounter a group of suspicious men at the gas station. Ry discovers a one-way mirror in the room, which he discovers is occupied by a woman. Tommy, a truck driver, visits the motel and sees Ray with a woman in the sixth room. The couple is disturbed by this and considers adoption. However, they are not ready for it yet, and a quarrel arises between the couple and the new motel owner. Tommy, upset that his favorite room is occupied, seeks a relationship with other women, which Ry understands.
