At the beginning of the movie, we meet teenagers Woody and Nell, childhood friends who are now distant neighbors and classmates. Woody annoys Nell with loud music, leading to a confrontation where he embarrasses her. Woody comes from a middle-class family, excels in sports but struggles academically. Nell is intelligent but socially awkward, aiming for a career in law. Despite their mutual dislike, they are forced to spend time together during a school field trip to a museum. After a heated argument in front of a magical statue, they wake up the next day to find themselves trapped in each other's bodies.
