The movie starts at Harrison High School in Southern California after spring break. Senior student Zach Syler, popular among boys and girls, is left heartbroken by his girlfriend Taylor's betrayal with reality TV star Brock Hudson. Zach's friend Dean challenges him to transform art student Laney Boggs into the prom queen within 6 weeks. Despite initial rejection, Zach is determined to win Laney's heart with the help of his sister and father.
