The movie begins with teenage Jenny anxiously taking a pregnancy test. To her dismay, the result is positive. When she confronts her boyfriend Juno about the pregnancy, he is shocked and speechless. In the following scene, Juno tries to avoid Jenny, but she finds him and physically assaults him out of frustration. Juno explains that he was not ignoring her, but was trying to find a solution to their situation.
