The movie starts at a restaurant called Soul Kitchen run by lazy but ambitious Zenos, the head chef. Despite unhygienic dishes, the restaurant attracts many customers due to low prices. Zenos's girlfriend Lucia, a wealthy businessman's daughter, plans to go to Shanghai for an internship, causing tension in their relationship. Zenos encounters his successful childhood friend Nyman. Later, Zenos hires a proud chef, Shane, who gets fired for his behavior. Zenos agrees to help his imprisoned brother, Elas, get a job at the restaurant for special privileges. Eventually, Zenos injures himself in the kitchen, prompting his employees to advise him to seek medical attention.
