At the beginning of the movie, former gangster Tai-sik returns to his hometown after being released from prison, determined to change his ways. Still feared and respected, he visits his adoptive mother's restaurant and later encounters old acquaintances. Meanwhile, corrupt police turn a blind eye to crimes, while Tai-sik's former ally, Chongmu, welcomes him with surprise and respect.
