Is this job market ok? Graduated in may and probably sent out close to 1000 apps. I’ve got like 7 months experience in seo, content creation for social, blog posting, and running google ad campaigns and I can’t find shit? My resume is ok, I get an interview here or there at agencies but there’s always a better candidate who wins out. Basically all digital marketing openings require 2 years experience? Has it always been this hard? Am I doing something wrong?

The job market can be challenging, especially for recent graduates. However, it's important to keep in mind that the job market can vary depending on various factors such as location, industry, and economic conditions.

In the field of digital marketing, it is common for employers to seek candidates with a certain level of experience. While some job postings may require 2 years of experience, it doesn't mean that all employers have the same strict requirements. It's possible that you may be targeting a competitive market or specific companies that have higher expectations for experience.

Here are a few suggestions to improve your job search:

  1. Expand your search: Consider looking for opportunities in different industries or locations. Sometimes, being open to different options can increase your chances of finding a suitable job.

  2. Networking: Networking can be a powerful tool in finding job opportunities. Attend industry events, join professional groups, and connect with professionals in your field. They may have insights, referrals, or even job openings that are not publicly advertised.

  3. Internships or freelance work: If you're struggling to find a full-time position, consider internships or freelance opportunities. These can provide valuable experience and help you build your portfolio while continuing your job search.

  4. Enhance your skills: Look for ways to enhance your digital marketing skills. Take online courses, attend workshops or webinars, and stay updated with industry trends. This will not only make you a more competitive candidate but also demonstrate your commitment to continuous learning.

  5. Tailor your applications: Ensure that your applications are well-tailored to each job you apply for. Highlight relevant skills and experiences, and customize your resume and cover letter to align with the specific requirements of the job posting.

Remember, finding a job can be a process that requires patience and persistence. It's essential to stay positive, continue refining your skills, and actively seek opportunities.
