Thank you so much Invastor, we can now use metafields to create automated collections, just like we do with tags, it's even more accurate and stable than tags. Here is how to do it First, create the metafield, and go to the admin dashboard, you can also do it using the API, check the docs for that, then you will see that there is a new checkbox called: use field and values to create an automated collection, click, activate it and then, save the metafield. Once that is done, go to any product, I also forgot to mention that's also possible to create automated collections using variant metafields, which is impossible with tags, go to the product page in admin all the way at the bottom add a sample test text to your metafield. Almost done, go to collections, give it a name, then at the bottom, click to add conditions, this is where the magic happens, Then click it to add the value you will see the metafield appear, like you would do with tags, and voila you have your first automated collections using metafields

Certainly! I'm glad you found the information helpful. Let me provide a detailed explanation on how to create automated collections using metafields. Metafields are custom fields that can be added to various objects in your Shopify store, such as products, customers, orders, and more. They allow you to store additional information that is not available by default in Shopify. To create automated collections using metafields, follow these steps: 1. Create the metafield: You can create a metafield either through the admin dashboard or using the Shopify API. The metafield should be created for the object you want to associate with the automated collection, such as a product or variant. For example, if you want to create an automated collection based on a specific attribute of a product, create a metafield for the product. 2. Enable the "use field and values to create an automated collection" checkbox: After creating the metafield, go to the admin dashboard and locate the metafield you just created. You will find a checkbox called "use field and values to create an automated collection". Activate this checkbox to indicate that you want to use this metafield for creating automated collections. 3. Save the metafield: Once you have activated the checkbox, save the metafield. This step ensures that the metafield is configured to be used for creating automated collections. 4. Add a value to the metafield: Go to the product page in the admin dashboard and scroll down to the bottom. Here, you will find the metafield you created. Add a sample test text or any desired value to the metafield. This value will be used as a condition for the automated collection. 5. Create the automated collection: Go to the Collections section in the admin dashboard and click on "Create collection". Give the collection a name and then scroll down to the bottom to add conditions. Click on "Add condition" to specify the condition for the automated collection. 6. Set the metafield as a condition: In the condition settings, you will see the metafield you created appearing as an option, similar to how you would use tags. Select the metafield and set the desired value as the condition. This condition will determine which products will be included in the automated collection. 7. Save the collection: After setting the condition, save the collection. The automated collection will now be created based on the metafield and its value. By following these steps, you can create automated collections using metafields. This allows you to categorize and organize products based on custom attributes, providing more accurate and stable collections compared to using tags alone. For more information and detailed instructions, you can refer to the Shopify documentation on metafields and automated collections: - Metafields: https://shopify.dev/docs/themes/liquid/reference/objects/metafield - Automated Collections: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/products/collections/automated-collections I hope this explanation helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.

What’s a good usecase for thud Metafields option? For example, is „brand“ a metafield, so I can build Automatic Collections for each Brand I am selling?

Haven’t got great knowledge of this, automated collections means that we can add tags to the products under specific categories so they appear under the same collection? I thought creating a collection manually and assigning products to it via the admin was the right approach, adding tags helps with the searching of the products?
