Yes, there are companies that sell anti-theft cash registers with customer-facing cash slots like the ones you described. These cash registers are designed to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of theft in retail environments.
One popular company that offers such cash registers is Nippon Primex. They have a range of models, including the "Customer-Facing Cash Register" series, which features a cash slot for customers to insert their payment directly. These registers have a built-in mechanism to automatically count and dispense change to the customer.
Another company that offers similar solutions is Towa Corporation. They have a product called the "Customer-Facing Cash Register System," which also allows customers to insert cash directly into the register. It has a user-friendly interface with multiple language options, including English, making it easier for both employees and customers to understand.
When looking for anti-theft cash registers with customer-facing cash slots, it's important to consider the language and usability features. Some Japanese cash registers may have the option to switch the display language to English or other languages, while others may only have Japanese language support. It would be best to contact the companies directly to inquire about language options and any potential customization for your specific needs.
It's worth noting that these cash registers may not be widely available outside of Japan, as they are specifically designed for the Japanese market. Therefore, you may need to import them or find a local distributor who can provide these products.

Empty your cash drawer Always empty your cash drawer and leave it open in full view of the shop window so that would be thieves can see that there is nothing to gain by breaking in and taking the cash register.

Secure the cash register Fixing the cash register to the countertop will prevent the cash register from being easily lifted off the countertop by would-be thieves.

Very interesting. I'm sure if you were to find one and to use in America, they could customize the software. There's got to be some customization work done anyway, to add store logs, link to inventory systems, etc.
