I am thinking to start my own website. But stuck btw a decision which ecommerce platform is best for Long term Shopify or WordPress? Your ideas and suggestion is needed
For the long term, WooCommerce is absolutely better than Shopify for its customization and a large number of plugins. However, you’re new to eCommerce or you don’t want to bother about technical details, go for Shopify. Also, if you’re looking to test things and try a few products, try out Shopify's 14-day free trial now to see how it works.
How much web development experience do you have? Shopify if none, WordPress if a lot.
How much time do you want to spend keeping it up to date and running? Shopify if none, WordPress if a lot.
It's a platform, not a business. Don't be misguided with what's the best answers. That shouldn't be your main focus. Keep your investments low before you have a product-market fit. That is something 90% of people have a problem with. Start with Shopify and keep it as lean and simple as possible.
As long as you don't have more than 50k products I would recommend Shopify.
The biggest reason for me is that way you don't have to deal with quarterly scans for PCI-DSS compliance. Shopify is a tier 1 provider, so you don't have to pay for that scan and don't have to worry about the latest zero-day exploit in WordPress or one of the plugins you are using.

Shopify is super user-friendly and you get a bunch of option without a paid subscription too -- so I would say Shopify if you're a total novice!
