I’m a Director of Digital Marketing. I have 10 years experience and make a bit north of $100k. I manage the website, email marketing, and social media (paid and organic) for a small healthcare company. It’s pretty good most days. Solid work life balance. Email marketing, website management, SEO, data, etc are solid hard skills that pay well in marketing. A lot of people claim to be digital marketers when all they do is Facebook and IG ads. Paid ads are important but social media marketing is a saturated field. Hard skills in HTML/CSS and being able to do email marketing or website work will set you apart. Lead generation and attribution of pipeline to digital efforts is how you get paid. If you can send an email and track the ROI, you’ll get paid.
