A.I. is not what people picture from science fiction, and most likely never will be. A.I. are not capable of real "growth" or "thought". All they do is take in data, process that data, and export it out in some fashion. A.I. is just a fancy excel sheet.

I don't understand why it has to replace things that people find joy in creating, such as art and writing, instead of it being developed to sustain boring tasks that humans shouldn't have to endure for the sake of a paycheck. Robots cannot ever emulate human emotion that translates into the wonders of creation and in my opinion they shouldn't be used this way, especially with A.I. needing to steal from actual artists to be functional. A.I. art is under no circumstances real art.

I wish A.I would move us to universal basic income and free people from the job grind. But unfortunately it be the opposite effect in our current capitalist system where large corporation would have advantage using AI to displace jobs not just low skill one but even middle tier to higher tier jobs like lawyers and doctors.

As someone who works in AI - it’s something with wonderful potential that I think will benefit society as long as we change policy to benefit people. This is the biggest danger to the future in my opinion- rich people in power will fight change. I think we should use AI to enhance our lives. Fuck the 40 hour, 5 day work week. Fuck commuting to an office. Fuck educational standards. Fuck the thought that it’s lazy to work less than full time. We should use AI to free ourselves. Get the 40 hour work week done in 10. Focus on productivity over time spent. Enjoy your life. Travel. Play games. Feed your passions. We can, and should, have a livable UBI for people anyways. The more that AI can help us, the more we need to change policy.
