Why should Charles be King?

The question of whether Charles should be King is a complex one, as it involves considering various factors such as his qualifications, experience, and suitability for the role. Here are several reasons why Charles could be considered a suitable candidate for the position:

1. Constitutional Role: As the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II, Charles is the heir apparent to the British throne and has been groomed for the role since birth. The monarchy is a constitutional institution, and Charles has been trained and educated to understand the responsibilities and duties associated with being the King. He has been involved in numerous royal engagements, representing the monarchy both domestically and internationally.

2. Experience and Preparation: Charles has spent his entire life preparing for the role of King. He has undertaken numerous public engagements, charity work, and diplomatic visits, which have provided him with a deep understanding of various aspects of British society and the role of the monarchy. He has also shown a commitment to public service through his work with the Prince's Trust, which has helped thousands of young people in the UK.

3. Advocacy and Influence: Charles has been an active advocate for various causes, including environmental sustainability, organic farming, and architecture. His advocacy work has helped raise awareness and bring attention to important issues. For instance, his efforts to promote sustainable practices have contributed to the global conversation on climate change and the need for conservation.

4. Stability and Continuity: Charles represents stability and continuity in the monarchy. He has witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by the institution and has been a steadfast supporter of its traditions and values. His long-standing dedication to public service and his sense of duty could provide stability during times of political and social change.

5. Global Reputation: Charles has built a strong global reputation through his international engagements and diplomatic efforts. He has represented the UK on numerous state visits and has developed relationships with leaders from around the world. This network and his experience in international affairs could prove valuable in promoting British interests and maintaining diplomatic relations.

It is important to note that the decision of who should be the King ultimately lies with the British people and their elected representatives. While these reasons provide a basis for considering Charles as a suitable candidate, public opinion and the broader context of the monarchy's role in modern society should also be taken into account.

It’s difficult to believe that a modern industrialized country still has a king and queen. How absurd.

He will be King after her. They won’t skip it, there’s no precedent or procedure for it. It’s not a beauty pageant or popularity contest. I know Will and Kate are younger and more photogenic but it is what it is. As far as hereditary monarchs/rich upper class bastards go he’s about average. The monarchy should have ended a long time ago but Britain doesn’t do revolutions or uprisings like the French so it will continue.

I wouldn't care if it all ended. It's an outdated ceremonial display at best. Plough the money into the NHS instead. Why do we need a royal family?

Monarchy is an outdated system of government, the world now has no need for monarchs whatever form they may take, not to mention, but the queen holds very little political power, Great Britain is a monarchy with a prime minister, therefore there is no need for a rich royal family paid for by tax dollars

It'll never end, but if Elizabeth II really trusted Charles, I think she'd have abdicated by now. William would be a decent King, I think but there's something off about Charles.

Parliament doesn't exist without the Monarchy. We need a king or a queen. Democracy exists on the permission of the Monarch who has waved their right to be a dictator
