The worry surrounding your perfect wedding dress is keeping you awake at night. Isn’t it? Well, I do not blame you. Been there done that. But I have also seen the stress that surrounds a Pakistani bride (credit goes to my co-worker) for the Pakistani wedding dress. It takes months for a customized dress to get ready. They are beautiful, nonetheless.
Coming back to the topic, here are the top-trending wedding dresses all brides-to-be should consider:
Ditch the white gown for something more colorful if you do not wish to be the traditional bride. You won’t be the first one to do so. Brides are opting for colorful gowns for their big day. The ‘colorful’ part does not imply that you must opt for a rainbow-colored dress. It just means that you will wear anything but white or off-white.
Some brides opt for a single-colored plain wedding dress. While others prefer colorful embroidery on a single base colored gown. Some brides do not opt for either. Instead, they go in a simple wedding dress with color accents. So, in case you do not have a liking for the same old white gowns, you can choose something more colorful for yourself. It is not a crime to do so.
Did you think that only heroes wear capes? Well, brides do too. At least the modern-day bride does. Capes dominated the runways this past season. And they do not look odd at all. Capes make the wedding dress look royal. You do not necessarily have to choose a heavy embellished piece for yourself. The material for your cape along with the type of work on it depends on your discretion.
Some brides choose to get their capes embroidered while others would go with pearls and beads. The latter gives the capes a fancy look apart from adding to the weight that the brides must carry. But if the bride is comfortable with what she is wearing, no one should have any objection.
I have a thing for jumpsuits. In my opinion, a jumpsuit can be both, a formal and semi-formal attire depending on its style and material. And if a bride decides to wear it, it can be a wedding dress as well. A super comfortable dress, indeed. The color depends on the discretion of the bride. The material does too. Again, you can choose to go with a plain version or an embellished one.
In my opinion, accessorizing the dress with fancy heels, clutch bag or jewelry is better than opting for heavy dresses. It becomes more manageable for the bride.
In case you do not want your dress to look too simply, you can opt for a heavier looking one. A pearl beaded dress maybe? You do not have to worry about anything other than accessories and makeup if you opt for this dress. Because the dress in itself is heavy enough to overpower everything else that you wear or carry. Therefore, keep your heels, bag, accessories, and makeup very simple if you wish to wear a beaded dress.
I am a sucker for floral prints. Anything in this print entices me. Whether it is a bag, heels or a dress. Seeing a bride wear a floral print dress would be a delight. My personal favorite or the go-to floral print dress would be in chiffon. And the color I would prefer would be anything from the pastel palette. However, you can choose to go in a silk or net gown as well. The color of your gown doesn’t necessarily have to be a pastel hue either.
Even shades of grey look very elegant. You can choose not to wear a veil with a floral print dress.
PS Opt for a different cut for a unique and interesting look.
Pant dresses are a thing. Were you aware of this recent development in the world of wedding dresses? If not, then the mention of them would have taken you by surprise. This alternative of the basic gown is comfortable apart from being figure-flattering. Moreover, wearing one of these suits on your big day will give you a badass look. Don’t we all love that?
If you are getting married this year, then you can choose to add 3-D floral embellishments or lace details on your suit. It will give your suit a unique look.
I hope this list helps all the brides-to-be take a better decision. Once you know the style that you want to wear, selecting a piece won’t be a problem. In my opinion, the western world has it simple. I have witnessed a Pakistani wedding. I have also bought online eastern women wear for myself to attend that wedding. And all the details on the dresses, the amount of time and customizations that went into one single dress were crazy. But for me, it was interesting to watch it as well.
