I avoid at absolutely all costs. They delay more than any other airline to the point it is beyond obnoxious and inconvenient. I will opt for longer trips, more expensive trips, and whatever else to avoid. From what I've heard, they have piss poor management which aggravates employees. They then take it put on us by creating delays by using any little rule they can find to make life worse for us. Recently I've flown AA from SHV to SAT and ONT to MAF. The first was canceled. The second was delayed to the point I missed my connection and have to find a hotel. Hopefully they go bankrupt so someone worth a crap can pick them up out of insolvency.

PHX I fly twice a week with AA. Very seldom any issues. Sometimes I'll experience a delay, but rarely anything that makes me sweat. Even the worst delay I've experienced was okay, although that's because I'm hourly and was already on OT when it happened. I made about 25 hours of OT instead of the expected 10 for that travel day that went into the next day.

Yep, fly at least three trips a month. Never any issues. CLT based so maybe I don’t have much choice, but overall I get where I need to go and enjoy drinks and snacks in the process. Wx kept me in IND overnight a couple of months ago, that has nothing to do with the airline. Voucher and shuttle to the hotel and was out first thing the next morning. I’m here for the entertainment.

AAdvantage Platinum Pro I just flew LAX-MCO and back last week. My return flight was delayed an hour, but we had notice of it the day before so I just got to sleep in on the day of departure. Both were absolutely full flights; Planes were clean; service on board was above average; departures went off without a hitch (day of). And that was with MCO being an absolute zoo, which is more or less what I expected. All things considered, I had zero complaints.

Flew GEG-DFW-ORD-BCN without a hitch two weeks ago. Then back BCN-ORD-SEA-GEG on Thursday, also without a hitch. But, I did have lots of reschedules for the trip over the months I had it booked (LHR was a connection twice and both times it just disappeared from my reservation). I just had to be diligent in making sure I monitored so I could resolve booking issues up to departure. I did, however, just cancel a trip GEG-PHX-MIA-STT because they cancelled part and the replacement schedule option had a two day layover. Wasn’t worth the trouble. Seems like it depends on where you need to go, what connections get you there, and your tolerance and understanding of the challenges right now. I’m still planning to use them to rebook my STT trip some other time. Their customer service was always easy to work with.

I wouldn’t sweat it, keep your expectations lower and be prepared to adjust plans if needed. But really it should go fine.

I have flown a ton of times and I’ve only ever had 1 bad experience and it was because of weather and it’s a very good airline the priority staff are very friendly

Last week LAX -MIA -LAX and no real issues. A 30 min delay due to local traffic issue (massive freeway shut down that resulted in crew delay) and went completely fine. I wouldn’t sweat it, keep your expectations lower and be prepared to adjust plans if needed. But really it should go fine.

I fly two trips a month from DFW to 3 different locations (2 regional, 1 city) I honestly have never had any real problems outside of a few delays (less then 20min) here and there, but those are expected imo. I don’t get all the hate, but then again maybe my expectations are more realistic or lower.
